DVD Review: Sara K and Chris Jones: Live in Concert 2002, Are we there yet?

One may wonder why there is a DVD as well as a CD of the live recordings of the 2002 Nautilus tour. Well, you are unlikely to find much enjoyment while watching a DVD while driving in your car which makes the CD a necessity for use while on the road. Simple. But the CD version of "Live in Concert" differs from the DVD in many ways. It was recorded in a different venue, this time in the Stadthalle, Erlang Germany on 15 June 2002. The sequence of the songs, although also supporting the then newly released album Water Falls, is different too.

Most importantly the mood on this CD is quite different from the DVD version which was recorded at another time and venue. Here we have a very relaxed atmosphere and songs that are often performed with gutso, almost, aggression, are now sung with passion, but laid back.

Some songs not found on the released album Water Falls, include Stop those bells, Ball 'n joint, He got you, Blind hearted and Vincent. Described by a German music magazine as the best CD of a live recording for 2003, it gets full points for technical merit.
